I-PASS Corporation

Greetings

I-PASS is constantly creating and taking on new challenges.

Established in 1993 with the founding principles of creation, achievement and meeting challenges, we started out
as a manufacturer of hydraulic seals made of tetrafluoroethylene (teflon). Since then, we have developed and
manufactured first composite resin cylinder wear rings, and later, copper alloy oilless bearings.

Following the establishment of the “Composite Materials Technology Research Lab” in 2008, we developed a
laminate material impregnated with fabric resin and bearings for wastewater and seawater pumps, and obtained
NEP certification from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.

In 2010, we jointly developed bearings for CWP, SLP, SCWP, and COP seawater pumps using composite materials
with five thermal power plants (Korea Midland Power / Korea Southern Power / Korea Western Power / Korea
South-East Power / Korea East-West Power Co., Ltd.) and received the “Excellent” grade in the completion
evaluation. Since then, we have been supplying composite material pump bearings for seawater and wastewater to
five thermal power plant companies (South-East Power Co., Ltd., Korea Southern Power Co., Ltd., Korea Midland
Power Co., Ltd., Korea Western Power Co., Ltd., and Korea East-West Power Co., Ltd.) as well as to local district
heating corporations and pump makers.

In 2009, I-PASS completed the development of non-lubricated composite bearings for ships and acquired
classification certification in eight advanced countries. Since then, we have been supplying rudder pintle, carrier and
disk bearings to Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd., Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., and
Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., as well as stern bearings to small and medium-sized shipbuilders. We have been
strengthening PR in overseas markets and spurring exports as well.

In 2020, we completed the development of a non-metal, high-performance composite material wear ring
(LUNA-CAPA) for centrifugal pumps with the Korea Water Resources Corporation through a performance-sharing
task, and in 2021, we acquired the Innovative Product certification in the SOC technology market. LUNA-CAPA wear
rings can greatly contribute to low carbon and eco-friendliness by increasing pump efficiency, reducing pump
vibrations and costs, and extending maintenance cycles.

In December 2025, I-PASS obtained Innovative Product certification for composite pump bearings (CWP, SLP), further strengthening our leadership in cost-effective and high-performance composite technologies

Main Products

Pump Part

Pump Bearing LUNA-15GR

LUNA-15GR shows excellent durability, even under dry operation
conditions, as it contains a uniform solid lubricant (no-lubrication
operation possible for 2 minutes), experiences almost no swelling in
seawater, and has a low thermal expansion coefficient for changes in
product operating temperature. It also has very good dimensional stability.
(It uses water lubrication and oil lubrication from seawater and
wastewater, and has excellent chemical resistance, except for high
concentrations of chemicals such as strong nitric acid and naphtha.)

・Long wear time and low maintenance costs
・Initial dry running possible without the need for an oil supply
・Absorbs shock to reduce vibrations and noise
・Not easily broken

Centrifugal Pump Wearing

LUNA-CAPA
As a carbon-PFA composite material, it is an innovative, optimized product
that can improve upon such disadvantages of pump wear ring metal
materials as overheating,
fatigue wear, grinding wear, oxide damage, and erosion. In addition, it can
reduce the rotation gap for pumps and thereby improve the efficiency by
1.5%-3%.

LUNA-PKFO
As a Kevlar-polyester composite material, it is a product that can improve
such disadvantages of pump wear ring metal materials as overheating,
fatigue wear, and erosion. In addition, it can reduce the rotation gap for
pumps and thereby improve the efficiency by 2%-3%.

Relationship between pumping amount and leakage amount
- Quantity to be transmitted (Q)=Pumping amount (Q+QL)-Leak rate (QL)
* Leaked rate (QL) is recirculated to the wear ring gap.
* The larger the gap, the larger the leak rate (QL).
⇒ Depending on t

・Increase in efficiency by 1-3%
・Reduction in power ratio by 1-3%
・50% reduction in vibrations
・Reduced maintenance costs
